Height (not drop height, elevation change, or lift-hill height) is the sole ranking metric; rank 1 is the tallest. Inclusion is limited to roller coasters that are currently operating, counting both complete-circuit and shuttle coasters. Defunct rides are excluded because they are no longer operating: Kingda Ka (456 ft, imploded 2025) and Superman: Escape from Krypton (415 ft, closed 2024) would otherwise appear near the top. Where sources disagree — as with Falcon's Flight, cited by some as 195 m (640 ft) — we use the RCDB structure-height figure (163 m / 534.8 ft) and note that the larger number is total elevation change over a valley, not structure height.
