How we ranked this

Actors are ranked by cumulative worldwide box office gross of films in which they had a leading or lead ensemble role (including voice roles), highest first, as of January 14, 2026. All ten figures come from one snapshot: Wikipedia's List of highest-grossing actors, Lead roles table (revision of January 15, 2026, stated as of January 14, 2026), whose figures cite The Numbers. Figures are nominal, unadjusted for inflation, and cover theatrical box office only. A table that includes cameos ranks people differently (Stan Lee and Samuel L. Jackson lead it) and is not used here. Caveats: The Numbers' classification of lead roles is disputed in places (Wikipedia flags Jackson's Endgame credit), and Avatar: Fire and Ash was still in release on the snapshot date. Later 2026 edits to the Wikipedia table, including Tom Holland after Spider-Man: Brand New Day, were not applied to all rows on one date, so this list keeps the January 14 snapshot. No ties.
