Quick answer

AB InBev is the largest beer company in the world by market share, with 26.4% of global beer production in 2024 (495.49 million hectoliters). Heineken is second at 12.8% and China Resources Snow Breweries third at 5.8%. Shares are output volumes from the BarthHaas Report 2024/2025 divided by BarthHaas's 2024 world beer production of 1.875 billion hectoliters.

A handful of brewing groups make a large slice of the world's beer. AB InBev, the company behind Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois, brewed roughly one in every four hectoliters produced worldwide in 2024, and the top two groups together made almost two of every five. This list ranks the ten largest brewing groups by their share of world beer production in 2024, using the BarthHaas Report 2024/2025, the hop merchant's annual survey that ranks the world's 40 largest brewing groups by output and tracks total world beer production.

How we ranked this

Brewing groups are ranked by 2024 beer output in millions of hectoliters (m hl) as listed in the BarthHaas Report 2024/2025 Top 40 brewers table (data for calendar year 2024, compiled largely from the brewers' own annual reports). Market share is our calculation: each group's 2024 output divided by BarthHaas's figure for total world beer production in 2024, 1.875 billion hl, from the same edition. It is a share of all beer brewed worldwide, not of the top-40 total (about 1,639 million hl), and it is a volume share, not a share of sales value. Shares are rounded to one decimal; Yanjing and Efes both round to 2.1% and are ordered by unrounded output. All figures come from one edition and one year: the later BarthHaas Report 2025/2026 (2025 data) revised the 2024 world total upward and changed the order below seventh place, and its full 2025 table could not be verified for this update, so this page stays on 2024 data. Rank 1 is the largest producer.

FAQ

Which beer company has the largest market share in the world?

AB InBev. It brewed 495.49 million hectoliters in 2024 according to the BarthHaas Report 2024/2025, about 26.4% of the 1.875 billion hectoliters of beer produced worldwide that year.

How is beer market share measured on this list?

By volume. Each brewing group's 2024 output from the BarthHaas Top 40 table is divided by BarthHaas's 2024 world beer production total (1.875 billion hectoliters) from the same report. Measured against only the top 40 brewers' combined output (about 1,639 million hectoliters), every share would be higher, for example about 30% for AB InBev.

Why does this list use 2024 figures rather than 2025?

The BarthHaas Report 2025/2026 headline figures put AB InBev at 484.19 million hectoliters in 2025, about 25.5% of a 1.896 billion hectoliter world market, but that edition also revised the 2024 world total and reshuffled places below seventh. Until the full 2025 table can be checked, this list keeps every number from one edition and one year rather than mixing them.
